 Policies/FAQ:

Thank you for choosing Braids for Kids LLC to service your most precious gift, your child. To ensure that your child’s experience is as enjoyable as possible please ensure that you properly prepare for your appointment.

Which services do I select, what is the cost and what is included?

  • All styles are organized by category.

    • 1st - determine your child's natural hair length

    • 2nd - determine if the style will be with No Hair Added (NHA) or Adding Hair (AH)

    • 3rd - determine the desired size of the braid (with the exception of loc retwist and style, crochet styles, and pig tails and barretts)

  • Hair trends change often, and as a result it is impossible to list and price all of them. To offer a personalized hair style for your child pricing is a la carte and will require you to speak to a stylist during the consultation at your appointment for proper pricing.

  • Hair may be purchased at the Salon and is NOT included in the service price. Our preferred hair brands are 3x X-Pressions. RUWA and Freetress. We only use pre-stretched hair and suggest the following:

    • JUMBO BOX BRAIDS= 4 to 8 packs of the 3 bundles per pack

    • LG BOX BRAIDS = 4 to 6 of the 3 bundles per pack

    • M BOX BRAIDS = 4 to 5 of the 3 bundles per pack

    • CORN ROWS AND FEED INS= 1 to 3 packs of the 3 bundles per pack hair

*Above are suggested amounts of hair needed. Amount may vary according to the child. We are not      responsible for the purchasing of too much or too little hair. Please plan as best you can.

  • All services come with a detailed consultation to ensure that we meet your expectations and help you achieve your child’s hair care goals.

  • Hair accessories options are handpicked by you and your child, and may include up to 7 beads per braid in the colors and sizes we have available and while supplies last. If you would like to bring special hair accessories to the appointment you are free to do so.

  • We have free Wi-Fi, kid friendly music, child appropriate conversations and safe environment that will engage all the necessary senses to ensure that your child will have an amazing experience.

How to prepare my child for their appointment?

  • We ask that all children come to their appointment with freshly shampooed and well blow-dried detangled hair. If your child's hair requires further detangling, and blown drying, the parent/guardian will be asked to reschedule or to add on a detangle and or blow dry service to the current appointment.

When should I remove my child’s previous style?

  • Please ensure that your child’s scalp is not sore or irritated as it can make styling and braiding un-pleasurable.

What should I do if we don’t feel well, or if my child is having a bad day (a little cranky)?

  • Please ensure that if you or your child is not feeling well, please keep them at home until they are feeling better.

What if my child won’t keep their mask on, what should I do?

  • Please ensure that your child has a well-fitting mask and can always keep it over their nose and mouth

What if my child is small and does not have experience being styled in a salon?

  • If for any reason your child is not able to sit independently to have their hair done the technician will stop the service immediately even if the style is incomplete. The child’s appointment will be rescheduled and 75% of the cost of service will be charged to the card on file.

  • Enforcement of the Bad Day policy is subject to the stylist and or management. It is to the discretion of the stylist and or management if the child can return to the salon for future services.

What should I expect during the check in process at the salon?

  • Every parent is to sign a release statement for each minor child before any services are rendered every appointment. Refusal to sign any release will result in refusal of services

Can I get my deposit back if I change my mind?

  • All deposits and payments are nonrefundable and transferable

  • Before the start and completion of all services, the balance must be paid in full using a debit/credit card, as we do not accept cash for services or products.

  • Tips for the stylist should be in cash and given directly to the stylist. All revised hair styles must be approved by management at least 24 hours prior.

Refund Policy

  • All services rendered are provided on a non-refundable basis. Customer agrees not to charge back any credit card payments for services rendered. In the event that a customer files a charge back or other payment dispute, they will be subject to collection action.

Late Arrival

  • We understand that things happen, however your appointment is subject to cancellation for arriving 15 minutes or more late. If your appointment is canceled due to running late, your original appointment will be canceled and you will have to reschedule. This will require an additional deposit as your previous deposit is nonrefundable or transferable.

What do I do if I cannot get my child to their appointment?

  • To reschedule appointments clients must call 24 hours in advanced, less than 24hour notice will result in client being responsible for 50% of the cost of service.

OMG, I forgot to call and cancel my child’s appointment, what should I do?

  • No call no show will result in client being charged the full amount of service of card on file. If funds are insufficient it will result in a $35 in addition to the full amount of service before being able to book another service with Braids for Kids LLC

Jumbo or large box braids for my child’s hair, that's above shoulder length?

  • Because we are intentional about the integrity of your child’s hair, we will not do jumbo or large box braids on children with less than 5 inches of hair.

I’m not sure if my child’s is able to get the style they want, what should I do?

  • All clients must schedule and attend a consultation for children with hair shorter than 3 inches of hair before scheduling an appointment. This is done to ensure that the technicians can provide a braided style that will protect the integrity of your child’s hair with the least amount of tension as possible.

It’s my child’s first time at the salon, will I be able to wait with them?

  • Our waiting room will be closed to extra people, siblings, and guest therefore it is imperative that your child is able to sit alone as well as go to the restroom on their own. If it is your child’s first appointment, to ensure both your child and technicians comfortability, parents are able to stay the first appointment only.

  • For children 9 years or older: parents/guardians may leave the salon. We will call you 15 to 30 minutes before the conclusion of your child's appointment.
